Biology background: I am currently working for Brigham and Women's Hospital in a Hematology/Oncology research laboratory doing biomedical and basic science research. I have a passion for biology and will be applying to PhD programs at the end of the year in hopes of one day becoming a college professor of biology. Spanish background: I am half Cuban and grew up in Miami, Florida. I have taken Spanish language and literature classes from 4th grade through college, and spent the Spring semester of my Junior year abroad in Sevilla, Spain. Music background: I have played the flute since 1998 (when I was in 4th grade) through middle and high school, and a few semesters in college. I am going to be auditioning soon in a wind ensemble here in Boston. Mentorship/Tutoring background: I have volunteered in two different homeless shelters, mentoring and tutoring the children within them.
