Experience
As a tutor, I can provide every child with enough guidance so they are never at a disadvantage. My volunteer work includes tutoring and mentoring K-12 age children. I believe education is the most important and powerful tool there is. While every individual deserves access to a good education, educators are not always capable of giving every person the attention they need. There are shortcomings in today's education systems. My main focus is ELA/ESL because I've found many kids I work with have the most difficulty here. Other subjects include U.S. history (I can name all 50 states in less than 7 minutes), reading, writing, psychology, study skills, public speaking, math, social studies, and test prep.I will soon complete my undergraduate studies at Queens College and am majoring in psychology and speech pathology. Much of my coursework has been based on child development, their learning, and growth. I feel every student should believe they can do anything and education can lead them to whatever it is they want, if they work hard enough. My goal is for students to love learning and realize their potential, and even learn even subjects they dislike. I'm an avid reader myself, and love singing and meeting new people.
