Experience
I am a graduate of Connecticut College, where I obtained a dual bachelor's degree in English and German. During my undergraduate education, I was awarded the German Consulate Book Prize for Excellence in German. After graduation, I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, and I spent a year in Dresden, Germany, teaching English at the middle school and high school levels. This unique experience helped me develop my strategy for language tutoring, which involves creating a fun, accepting, and exciting environment. This helps students feel free to speak aloud with confidence and develop their language skills. I have always been passionate about education and learning. I also served as a writing tutor at both Connecticut College and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. As a tutor, I aim to create a stress-free environment in order to help students explore and develop their topic during every stage of the writing process. My diverse history in tutoring has given me valuable experience in working with students of all ages on many different subjects, ranging from elementary and middle school math to AP-level English and History. I am also able to assist with standardized test preparation, including the SSAT, SAT, and PSAT. When I'm not tutoring, I like to spend my spare time reading, hiking, taking in live comedy, and playing basketball.
